How do you behave when you are under the pressure of life? What is your attitude when you lose money, you are betrayed or persecuted? How do you behave when you are given unpleasant news? Many Christians behave differently under different life circumstances but do you know there’s a God prescribed way of handling all of life’s different phases.
For many Christians, bad news means stress and depression. It means a time to worry and blame God. When a Christian reacts in these ways, immediately you know they are ignorant of God’s prescribed approach to life from His word. It doesn’t matter what comes at you, there’s a way to calm it in God’s word. I call it the ‘thanks approach’. Thanking God for good happenings is easy and almost every Christian knows how to do it but thanking God in the darkest hour is the preserve of few, the matured in Christ.
The ‘thanks approach’ is a deliberate showing of appreciation to God for anything that goes on in your life desirable and undesirable alike in anticipation of a glorious end. In this approach, you thank God profusely when given bad news the same way you will thank the Lord Jesus for saving you. You refuse to let the happenings in and around you affect your attitude of praise. You thank God for the persecutions and troubles just like you praise Him for the good things He has done for you. Showing gratitude in the valley in anticipation of a mountain top experience will create a miracle that will catapult you to the top effortless.
When the Lord Jesus stood at Lazarus’ grave He gave thanks, when He took the five loaves and two fishes He gave thanks. While in prison, Paul and Silas gave thanks, and all these thanksgiving sessions preceded great miracles. When you learn to always thank God in bad circumstances you have mastered the skill of working miracles in helpless situations! It is your way of cooperating with the Lord to make the supernatural happen.

Thanksgiving is my life style. I do it all the time. Irrespective of the circumstances I thank God. I thank in the valley and I thank on the mountain top. Worry and complains are not a part of my life in Jesus name!
