Brothers, I couldn't talk to you as spiritual people but as worldly people, as mere infants in Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:1 (ISVN)

Every Christian is at one point of many growth stages. You are either a fresh baby, child, youth or the matured in the Lord. You can't be two or more at the same time. The level of growth or maturation of an individual unfortunately is not based on the number of years he or she has been born again. It is directly linked to how the Word of God has transformed the spirit and soul of a man.

If the Word has had no impact in your life, you've not grown no matter the number of years you've been saved or been to church. Many times people try to equate their years in church to their level of growth. But as much as being in church is important, if it doesn't reflect in your life it is almost useless. This is the reason where you church is very important, it is important to expose you to the power of God's word for transformation, if you don't get that you will be the same no matter the years in church.

Spiritual growth is seen in you losing your fleshly (human) way of life to the dictates of the Spirit of God. Said differently, it is moving from the low life of natural men to the divine way of life. If you still cheat, steal, lie, envy, jealous, gossip and quarrel it doesn't mean you are not saved, it only means you are an infant in Christ. The Word of God has not changed you yet.

When you still doubt God, worry, fear devils and sicknesses, and are moved by your senses it shows that you are but young in Christ. If you are in the above bracket, you still have more room for improvement. The day you lose all your fears and worries for all things having perfect knowledge of the will of God and yield to it, you have matured in Christ. At this level, nothing moves you only what God has said. At this stage, you lose all your natural inclinations to the power of God's Word.

God's Word is the material for my growth in Christ. I feed daily on the Word for daily transformation till I am all that God says I am practically.
