The New Testament warns the people of God against the error of Balaam. Unfortunately, many ministers and children of God are already in the error ignorantly or deliberately. The sin of Balaam seems to be dominant already in many palaces in the body of Christ and must be resisted before it becomes the order of the day.
Balaamism is the practice of going out of the will and purposes of God to do things for personal benefit. For ministers of God, it includes but not limited to the merchandising of the gift of God -charging people in order to minister to them, changing the message of God given you to one that will fetch you money and the casting of stumbling blocks before the people of God to depart from God's best for them.
The people in this error mostly start well like Balaam (Num 22:8-14). They listened to God from the beginning but changed along the line because of the pressures of life and the selfish desire to make it no matter what. This pressure has made many Christians turn against God but you have to overcome it!
Understand that God has no problem with you having lots of money and physical wealth. His point is that money shouldn't become your master (Matt 6:24-33)- controlling you. Remember, He made David and Solomon rich. David served God with his money but Solomon allowed his riches to make him depart from God.
