_______

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Colossians 3:1-2

We have proven at length from scripture in our previous devotionals that the Christian is in the family of God and a native of Heaven. As important as these truths are, they won’t be much beneficial if they don’t become the consciousness and daily meditation of the Christian. Every one of God’s children should think of life in their home country, Heaven, more than they do of life down here on earth. They should want to be praised by Heaven rather than celebrated by men.

We children of God are strangers and foreigners to the fallen system we see in the world today (1 Peter 2:11). God does not expect us to be entangled in the corruption and evil dispersed around us but rather cure it. We are to be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and a perverse world; holding forth the word of Life (Philippians 2:15-16). We are Heaven’s ambassadors to the earth to restore hope, sanity and godliness to this world and that is not possible if we are not heavenly minded.

There’s so much here on earth enough to get anyone’s attention and suck the love and interest for our heavenly country from them. There is so much distraction where ever you turn that only few of God’s children have been able to successfully remain heavenly minded. We don’t need to get the truth twisted; this current world system is so contrary to our walk of faith that if our eyes are not set on Heaven we can be found living as everyone yet born again. We are in the world but not of the world.

1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. In other words, don’t make the things in this world take the place of God in your life no matter how appealing they seem.

// 🗣 SAY BY FAITH

My eyes are set on Jesus and Heaven. I refuse to be tainted by the corruption and lust that is in the world. I live the Heavenly life on earth. I change the world for Jesus and not the opposite!
