Day 278| October 4, 2020 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!

Phil 3:2-3

Anytime we are entering into a house with this sign ‘beware of dogs’ it is to make us cautious. It is for us to be careful as we enter into the house. If we ignore this warning, we may be endangering our lives. Our opening verse is emphatic we are to beware of dogs. The question is where are the dogs? The answer is obvious, they are in the church.

If you found a brother or sister in church whose communications point to evil consistently, be careful of them. Don’t assume everyone in church is there because of God; some are there for ulterior motives. If a brother consistently appears to be evil or ungodly you better beware of them before it rubs on you. The Bible teaches us to mount guard over our hearts with all diligence because allowing evil in means a likely production of evil, it is just a matter of time and the results will be clear

1 Cor 15:33 (AMP) puts it nicely in the amplified version; Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character. Some supposed Christian brothers and sisters have led ignorant and innocent Christians into a wayward life because they assumed they were of God. These people can even be preachers, if your leader in the church keeps bringing out doctrines, teachings or attitudes that do not follow what the Bible says, don’t for the sake of his position stay mute and go down with them.

Make it a practice to learn the word of God for yourself because it is the only sure Way to open your eyes to the works of darkness. Be easily persuaded by the Word of God but not gullible, the two are not the same. Said differently, easily believe but believe only if what you believe is properly founded in the Word of God. Don’t just believe because the one saying is in a nice suite of clothes.

My heart is opened to the Word and the Spirit of God. I openly receive the Word of God for edification, exhortation and comfort. I also guard my heart with all diligence against any schemes and ideas of darkness.
