Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

Rev 12:10

Today our focus shall be on one of the devices the devil and his cohorts use to hurt and gain advantage over the people of God. Apostle Paul said in 2 Cor 2:11- we are not ignorant of his devices lest satan should get an advantage of us. In other words, being ignorant of the devices of darkness will make the children of God susceptible to the stratagems of darkness. We are looking at the weapon accusation.

From our opening verse, we see the devil introduced with the title ‘accuser of the brethren’. The devil is the founder and CEO of the company called ACCUSATIONS hence his title, accuser of the brethren. One of his key weapons through which He has affected the body of Christ is accusations. Through accusations, He has retired many from receiving Jesus and going to church and many more from the work of the ministry accusing them with their past and current life.

Accusation is one of the frequently used and most trusted weapons of darkness. It has been used against most ministers of God starting from Jesus to the Apostles until now. The unfortunate thing is that this weapon of the devil is used by Christians and preachers even more than the cohorts of darkness. Anytime you find anyone, Christian or non-Christian accusing and condemning a child of God, be in the known that they are ignorantly working for the devil and using his weapons. The kingdom of darkness has through accusations aborted the ministries of many who are called of God by making people and many Christians unknowingly fight them with their mistakes, past and even methods of ministrations.

The reason for accusation is mainly to deter people from sticking their necks out for the Lord (if you still afraid of being accused for the Lord, the devil has stricken you with the sword of accusation). It is also for the purpose of slowing you down in what you do for the Lord. Anytime anyone begins to do beyond the normal for the Lord, the devil comes with his sword of accusation disguisedly presented in name calling and demonic brandings at different levels to keep them from advancing. He called Jesus demon possessed, glutton, wine bibber, mad, trouble causer, destroyer of temple and so on.

Every child of God must understand this so they are not deterred by accusations as well as not found using this evil sword on other brethren. You may be fighting the work of God (working for the devil) criticizing a minister or a brother. When your accusation gets to them they may be stricken so deep they may not have the confidence to live for the Lord anymore so watch your mouth. The best way to handle evil reports concerning anyone is not to spread it. Pray for them. Approach them if possible and in the attitude of love point out what you think may be wrong and get it solved. Don't keep evil reports and pretend all is well, it will later make you an accusser and bitter, go to the brethren and solve it or forget about it all the same.

I refuse to use the weapon of accusation against any child of God or minister. When I hear evil reports of a person, I am quick to pray for them rather than criticize them.
