Day 287| October 13, 2020 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

James 5:16 (AMP)

The real essence of prayer is intimacy with God and this has eluded so many of God’s children. There seem to be a void in their life that ought to be filled but they don’t know how. Often times they feel drawn away from God but seem helpless in getting back to that place they desire in their heart. For those people who began their Christian life by reading prayers from books daily, they are shocked that some others can stay in prayers for hours, days and sometimes weeks when they can’t do even 30 minutes without feeling like a fish drawn out of water.

The second group who took prayer as a religious exercise that ought to be done daily also end up struggling in prayer because they are having an empty time praying which seem so dry with little life but have to do it because that is the only way to stay afire. Firstly, you need to know that prayer is not something that is done to appease God and our conscience for being in a relationship with God. Prayer is not something God is begging from us.

Prayer is a high calling for intimacy with the Father. As a Christian God is your Father and prayer is a call to communion with him. It is the blood of our new life in Christ. It gives life to our faith and walk with God. Prayer is a deep intercourse with divinity that reveals to a man God’s heart and transforms the heart of the man. The place of prayer cannot be taken by any other activity. The prayer that transforms and blesses us is the one that starts with the heart of man.

Prayer is not just mumbling some words to God. It is approaching the Father with your heart for a deep fellowship which may transcends words at times. Without your heart anything you say is not prayer. So effective prayer comes from the depth of your heart as talking to your love and in those periods, time doesn’t matter to you. You pour out your heart in fellowship and gratitude and long for his presence more than his presents and He communes with you, overshadows you with his love which makes everything you may require from him a done deal, glory!

I am in love with my heavenly father. My first reason for praying is not ask things from God. I pray because I love and enjoy Him and His fellowship more than anything on earth. As I release all my heart to him in prayer He takes care of everything in my life.
