that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Eph 3:17-19

If you should ask many Christians how they will describe a spiritual person, many are likely to miss the virtue of Love as an attribute of a very spiritual person. They will mention things like; the person should be prayerful, speak in tongues, heal the sick and cast out devils as key attributes of a spiritual person. Some may even add deep prayer voice and walking styles but whiles these may be attributes of a spiritual person, they are not sufficient in telling whether a man is spiritual or not.

In the Bible a donkey saw vision and prophesied and it was not even saved (Numb 22:22-32). The fact that a man operated in a spiritual gift doesn’t guarantee that he is spiritual or even born again. Also the fact that a man shouts doesn’t mean He’s got it spiritually. Shouting in preaching doesn’t mean what is said is even spiritual. In first King, there was shouting, earthquake, wind and fire and God was not in it (1Kings 19:11-12). There’s something more that is sure in predicting the spirituality of a person – their love walk. The degree of your love walk is the degree of your spirituality.

Many Christians see love as timidity not spirituality, but God is Love and God is not timid. God is love and God is a Spirit, meaning; there more love you demonstrate the more spiritual as God you are. In fact, the day we comprehend and contemplate the love of God, that day we shall be filled with all the fullness of God (Eph 3:17-19).

Although walking in Love towards everyone looks ordinary compared to praying and prophesying it is at the core of spirituality. It makes you take after the nature of your Father in Heaven. If you find yourself getting bitter and hating on others quickly repent and turn from it quickly before it rips you of your godliness. You can do all you want but without love, you are not spiritual at all.
