Day 92| 02 APRIL 2021 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

‘And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.’

Mark 1:41

From the above verse we see the master do something that was never to be done in Israel in His days; to touch a leprous man. Leprosy was a shameful disease and people with the disease were considered unclean and a danger to public health. Because of this, they were separated from the people to be in a different camp (Numb 5:2). Not even their relatives were permitted to touch them. If you wanted to give them anything, you would have to throw it to them. It was an unclean thing to touch anybody with leprosy.

Any person with leprosy was isolated and can no longer pursue their dreams until they recover from the leprosy and are certified to be healed by a priest. This was the kind of man who approached the Lord for Healing. The religious people of that day were those who enforced the law and sent people out of town if they had the disease. If they should in any case cast an eye on them in town, they will order the people to stone them. But the master was different and that’s how he wants all of us to be. He was moved with compassion when he saw the sorry state of the man who was supposed to be a descendant of Abraham.

Jesus was full of Love for the man. Love takes interest in people. Love is the conscious and active effort to make people come in alignment with the purpose of God for their life. And it will go the extra mile to get it done. Love will make you talk to and pray for people who are not saved though they may be fighting you. It will make you feed your enemies when they are in need and not expect any good response from them.

When you are pressed on every side, let love lead you, be like your master. Take interest in the well-being of people; help the vulnerable, help people achieve their God given dreams, pray for the unsaved, and lift the weak hands. Let their plight stir the love of God in you to help.

I walk in the Love of God, I am not blind to the plights of people. I am answer to many to cry of many in this world and I respond to their needs.
