📜 GIVE ACCORDING TO HOW GOD HAS PROSPERED YOU 📜

///// SUNESIS OF CHRIST /////

Day 48 | FEBRUARY 17, 2021 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

_________

Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

1 Corinthians 16:2 (KJV)

Giving is one of the sensitive areas in Christianity where many find it difficult to find the balance of the truth. There's one extreme that turns everything Christianity into money. They say things like if you want a child, sow money. If you want promotion sow money, if you want to have spiritual gifts sow money...in short to get anything in the faith you have to sow money. The only thing that doesn't require money is your salvation.

The other extreme stresses that God doesn't need our money to do anything for us which is true but the place where it gets bad is when every platform to give is removed and no one gets the opportunity or is encouraged to give even if they have or are led to do so.

Yes it is true that God loves us so dearly and doesn't need our money to bless or do anything for us. In fact it is an insult to keep such a mindset when He gave us Jesus the Lord to save us for free; the biggest gift we could get from God. But that doesn't change the fact that, God honors faith and faith gets results; and that like Abraham giving Isaac or the widow who fed Elijah, our giving can also be a demonstration of our faith in God and not a way of buying God's approval. When we give in faith, example, when we by faith give a helping hand to the needy or support a church project with the little we have with the trust that God can supply our need and so we are not depending on the arm of flesh, that faith will definitely get results, because we believed in God and even made a move of faith.

Now, this working doesn't mean everything about faith should be about giving because there are many ways to demonstrate faith in God to get results.

Having said all these, in a church setting, we should normalize giving to help the needy and the vision of God for the church. And this should be done by everyone. Our support in any way shows that we love the Lord and are ready to do anything for His course. The way you give in such situations is in relation to how God has prospered you. Don't be pressured by any minister to give what you don't have. Give what you have and let it get bigger and better as God gets you bigger, that is love for the Lord (Matt 6:21). A prospered man who gives nothing or something small is only saying my heart is not after the Lord or He is not priority.

// 🗣SAY BY FAITH

I am a faith and a love child of God. I give graciously for the course of God as God prospers me. My heart and passion is for the Lord and His purpose.
