A soldier on duty doesn't get caught up in making deals at the marketplace. He concentrates on carrying out orders.
2 Tim 2:4 (TMB)
The children of God on earth have an assignment of winning the world into the kingdom of their Father. That was the last assignment the Lord Jesus gave to his disciples and it is the will of God for all his children. The Father’s desire is to see everyone saved. He started this great work through the Lord Jesus and He is still at it today through the church (2 Cor 5:19-20).
The church is the extension of Christ. It is the arm of God in reaching out to the lost and establishing the will of God in the earth. The church is also likened to an army sent out to conquer the forces of darkness that has invaded the earth (2 Tim 2:1-5) and every Christian is a soldier in the army of the Lord. It doesn’t matter whether you know it or not; you are here as a soldier of Jesus Christ.
Now the Bible speaks of the children of Israel when they go to battle: Lev 26:8 five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you, ten thousand! You will defeat all of your enemies. This is amazing! Mathematically this is incorrect. If 5=100, then 100=2000 but the bible says 100 will give us 10,000. This is the power of synergy. As soldiers of the Lord what we achieve individually doesn’t come close to our combined efforts. This is one of the reasons you need to be part of a church and a committed member as such. Together we form a formidable team to take over the world for Jesus.
The devil knows this so he plants discord among the people of God so they will not be united in reaching out to the world. He uses the weapons of intimidation, disloyalty, accusations, gossip, slander, fault finding and many others to keep Christians away from church so the team will never be strong to take over the world. Always be in church, never allow these weapons keep you away and also never be a Christian who uses these weapons to attack other Christians.
Take your position on the field of souls and start labouring. No time to look back. No time to be entangled with worldly civilian affairs. You are a soldier of the Lord, that is not enough, be determined to please you Father in heaven in every way possible.
