Mark 6:52
Hardness of Heart when referring to unbelievers means rebellion towards God. It refers to the inability to agree with or discern what God is doing. When used with believers, as in Mark 6:52, it refers to relating more easily in the natural realm than the supernatural. Example, being slow to believe what God is doing or can do as a believer, when you are like that, your heart is hardened in a way and this grieves the master. God wants you to be yielding and leaning on Him all the time and not stressing or fretting.
Doubting God and looking for natural solutions and answers to the things you encounter daily are a demonstration of a hardened heart towards God. Mary and Martha believed Jesus could heal Lazarus when he was alive but not when he has been dead for four days. This moved the master to tears. Whenever you doubt the Lord you make him sad just as it happened here.
Follow the story: John 11:21Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.23-24 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 32-33 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. 33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, 35 Jesus wept.
After having been with the master for a while He expected this family to have believed that Lazarus would be resurrected, but they could only relate with him healing the sick now or raising the dead during the judgment day. Many of God’s children can’t even believe God for their daily provision and they keep stressing till they are depressed and that is sad. The solution to hardness of heart is constant meditation on the Word and power of God. Take the Word and say it to yourself daily.
