Day 16 | January 16, 2021 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

‘He told them, "It is written in the Scriptures, 'My Temple is to be a place of prayer for all nations,' but you have turned it into a den of robbers.’

Mark 11:17 (TLB)

Before the New Testament the most revered and sanctified place for the worship of God was the temple in Jerusalem. Because of this, people made pilgrimage to the Holy place from all over the world. The temple was the best place to contact God and that was where the people prayed. Even if one was far away in another country, they were admonished in the scriptures to face the direction of the temple (1 Kings 8:48).

In the days of the master, the Prayer aspect of the temple had been majorly overtaken by business activities associated with the sacrifices. That infuriated the master to lash and throw the business men out of the temple. Presently the most important and Holy place for meeting God is no longer in Jerusalem. The place is no longer geographical. The Lord said (John 4:21 NIV) Jesus declared, "Believe me, woman, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. The place of worship and prayer has been relocated. It is now your body. 1 Cor 6:19: ‘…your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you’ .

Man is a spirit He has a soul and lives in a body which is now God’s temple. This means you live in the temple and anywhere you go the temple goes. You can lift your hands anywhere anytime and have a wonderful fellowship with the Father. You don’t have to get to a church building before you can pray; your body is now God’s temple glory to God and Jesus said the temple of God is to be a house of prayer.

Make your body a perpetual place of prayer and worship. Don’t wait for particular special periods, whether on the job or in the house fellowship with the Father. Stay always connected in fellowship with the Father praying in the spirit. Don’t follow your feelings to decide whether to pray or not to pray.

My body is the temple of God and I reside in the Temple all the time. I carry the temple everywhere I go and remain perpetually in touch with my Father. I don’t have to travel anywhere to fellowship with my Father.
