Then have you gone completely crazy? For if trying to obey the Jewish laws never gave you spiritual life in the first place, why do you think that trying to obey them now will make you stronger Christians?...I ask you again, does God give you the power of the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you as a result of your trying to obey the Jewish laws? No, of course not. It is when you believe in Christ and fully trust him.
Gal 3:3,5
Receiving from God is one interesting thing that has eluded many Christians especially very faithful Christians. I find this amazing as I have observed in my praying for and with different Christians over the years. Whether in receiving the Holy Ghost, Healing or a miracle of any sort, many very faithful Christians fail to receive whiles others we may naturally consider not too good Christians easily receive.
Before we go on, let’s make it clear that faithfulness is a virtue (Gal 5:22) and a fruit of the regenerated Human spirit and every child of God is required by maturation to walk in faithfulness but faithfulness is not a good receiver! Be in the known that you don’t get things from God because you are good but because you believe. So many who say “I have been serving God faithfully for all these years but He has not done this and that for me” are not going to receive unless they start acting in faith instead of arguing their faithfulness.
Our opening verse makes it clear. You received salvation and eternal life by faith; you also received the Holy Ghost by faith so why are you now saying God should give you a child, a car, a house because you have served him faithfully. As similarly as they may sound, FAITHFULNESS is not the same as FAITH. FAITH is calling and seeing things which are not physically or naturally visible as present and available based on the Word of God. Faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God, it is the evidence of things not seen!
After you have known God as your source, believe that He is a good God and a rewarder of faith. Then stand on his word concerning what you want and claim that you have received it and begin giving thanks.
Spiritually when you claim the word of God in such a way it is done unto you although not physically manifested, it is just a matter of time and you will be celebrating a testimony.
