’And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?’
Matt 9:4
The master marveled at these religious leaders at his meeting for thinking evil in their heart though they never audibly expressed it. Someone would be wondering why Jesus should be surprised because thoughts are not real or tangible in the physical realm so why worry about them.
It is only in the natural people don’t immediately realize the power of thoughts but in the spirit realm they are tangible, loud and effective. Your thoughts define your personality, Your thoughts tell who you really are and what your life will produce. In proverbs it says: ‘for as he thinks in his heart so is he’. You are not different from your thought life. If you allow your mind to think about anything, your life will produce anything. If you think on the divine nature of God your life will manifest the divine.
It will interest you to know that you cannot actually do good or wrong successfully without having it go through your mind first. Whatever you decide to allow dominate in the mind will trickle down into your heart and that is what your life will produce. The mind is the womb of actions. It also influences your emotions in the direction you allow it. Apostle James traces the origin of Sin from the mind. He puts it this way, James 1:14: ‘But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed’. In other words, you can’t be tempted by anything unless it entices you. What you don’t allow in your mind and doesn’t entice you, can’t tempt you. The way to deal with addictions and bad habits is to refuse to let them entice you by changing the way you see them through the Word of God.
For the Lord to marvel at this religious people, means it was a choice the people made. If you think fear or allow fear in your mind; you will be afraid, if you think hate, hatred will fill you. In every situation you can think evil or godly thoughts. Godly thoughts lead to godly actions and evil thoughts results in evil works. Take charge of your mind from today and produce godly results. When you fill your mind with the Word of God the Bible says you will prosper and be like a tree planted by the rivers of water whose leaves do not wither.

I take charge of my mind today. I fill it with the word of God. I don’t think evil of anything, anyone or anyplace. I think divinity; I fill my mind with the mind of Christ through his words in the scriptures. I maintain the mindset of Christ
