Day 174 | 23 June 2021 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

Luke 15:22 (KJV)

One of the graces of the gospel is God becoming our Father and flooding our hearts with His love (Rom 5:5). Now, we are children of Love and the expectations of heaven on our love life is way different and higher than that of the world. It is the Father's kind of Love and the Lord calls it ' Greater Love'.

John 15:12-14 (KJV) This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

With this love like I have always said, you no longer 'love your neighbour like you love your self, you do it like the Lord or our heavenly Father. In what has become popularly known as the 'the parable of the Prodigal son' in Luke 15, although I particularly feel it is about the Love of the Father, we are shown the quality of the Father's love for the son, and that's the love all children must replicate today.

In that story, we see the Father show consistent and tough love towards the son although, he left him, squandered half of his wealth and lived riotously. The Son changed but His Father's love never did. It was the same before he left and after he came. This is how God loves us, He will never change even if experience some fluctuations in our walk with Him.

And that is how He wants us to love everyone. If you care to be great in our kingdom, brace yourself for this kind of love. In our kingdom, the prodigality of a son, doesn't stop the love of a Father...not even their tantrums. Father's don't rant the mistakes of sons no matter the matter- that is a responsibility of Fatherhood and Christian living.

I am a love child of God. I love like my heavenly Father. The negativity of people do not influence my love life. I love irrespective of the behaviour of the recipient.
