Day 307| November 2, 2020 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

1 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV)

The gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is the communication of the life of God to men. It carries the very nature and glory of the Father yet subject to the bearer of the truth. The lord said 'I am come that they might have life but some handle the gospel as a lifeless theory handed down to them by their teachers with no flicker of power and that is what their experience of the gospel has been.

Others share it as a good message to bring conviction to their hearers in order for them to receive Jesus as their Lord. Some more people share it as a teaching that will help guide us from waywardness. All these ways of handling the gospel is good but there is more. The gospel is more than a message or a word, it is the very power of God (Romans 1:16).

Apostle Paul being privy to this reality of the gospel made sure his message never got stuck at the word level. He was determined to let his audience understand the gospel (the good news) in all of it's forms and that is what this generation must rise to do. It is not all the time the gospel should be spoken many will never get saved this way. The proclamation should also take the power dimension as well.

In John 5:1-14, The master met a man who had been sick for thirty eight years, his preaching to the man was pick up your bed and go home. In Acts 9:33-34, Peter did a similar thing to Aenas causing his instant healing from a sickness that made him bed ridden for eight years. The result was that all those in the town and the towns nearby turned to the Lord by that one healing. Why do you have to say Jesus is alive, powerful and loving to someone who needs help? Let the Jesus you preach meet their problem and then you can introduce him by word to them.

I don't only preach the gospel, I manifest it. I don't preach Jesus shall heal, I bring healing to people through the gospel. I don't only preach Jesus' deliverance, I set all in bondage around me free.
