Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way
Matt 13:24-25
The above parable spoken by the master is very thought provoking. The parable is about the present kingdom of Heaven or the church age. In his interpretation of this parable, the master said the good seeds are the children of the kingdom and the tares are the children of the wicked ones. In other Words the devil plants his kids in the midst of the children of God.
In the current church of Christ, our hopes would have been that all of us would be of God, but not all of us belong to him. The devil has planted false brethren and ministers and their aim is to distort the message as well as lead many astray. This account for many of the false teachings and misbehaviour that has infiltrate the church today. This is not to say any minister preaching falsely is demonic. Some have given heed to doctrine of devils although their hearts are right with God. But don't forget that the children of the devil are also in there.
It behooves on us the church now to rightly divide the Word of God and discern whatever message is dished out to us by checking it up with the scriptures. And the fact that you met a brother in church doesn’t automatically mean they are of God. Thes same with ministers of God. The fact that he quoted a verse and claimed to do miracles doesn't mean he is from God.There are tares planted among the wheat by the devil.
Note that the wheat and the tares are similar in nature especially when they are young. Even the specialist may have a hard time making a perfect distinction. Take heed to yourself therefore that you are not deceived; be wise as a serpent the master says.
