Day 87| 28 MARCH 2021 | Apostle Gideon C Boateng

And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 1:6

As a child of God, you have been made a king and priest to God your Father. As a king you have the authority of your Father, the king of the universe to enforce his reign in the earth and as a priest you have the glorious office of mediating between God and men in relation to things of the earth. To be named as God's priest is not just a title. It is a glorious elevated placing before the Father to legitimately present the issues of men before him. The office of the priest is an honorable office and Jesus our Lord is the great High priest.

You can’t just wake up one day and call yourself a priest of God you need to be called into that office According to (Heb 5:4) ‘…no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was’. It is God who calls the priest into that office, and the Bible declares that all Christians have been made priests unto God. This means we all have been granted access to God to obtain answers for cases involving men with God just as Aaron represented the children of Israel to God.

In our case there is no more sacrifices (animal) to offer to petition God because the master has settled it all. We offer sacrifices of praises to God on daily basis with the Words of our lips (Heb 13:15), we intercede for the salvation of the World and sinners (Acts 13:2, Matt 9:38), we teach and disciple the World in the doctrine of Christ (Matt 28:19-20), we send healing presence of God to the world and deliver the afflicted (Acts 10:38, Mark 16:17).

Now the above responsibilities of the priest are not exhaustive but they are for every Christian. You need to function as a priest with this duty on daily basis. Paul told his son Timothy, (2 Tim 4:2) ‘Preach the word; be instant in season out of season’ that means there is no vacation from this office. You are on duty daily as God’s priest. In the Old Testament the fire of the temple was never to be quenched, it must be afire always and so must you. If you are on vacation it is time to resume never to recline.

I am a priest of the God of Heaven and the earth. I mediate between God and men concerning things in the earth. I have a glorious privilege from heaven to receive answers to all my petitions.
